Mission Opportunities in Kanawha & Putnam Counties
There are a number of multi-housing units in Kanawha and Putnam Counties. 90% of the residents are lost. This is a great mission opportunity to take the Gospel to our community with the vision of establishing ministries on-site in these facilities. Contact Danny Cunningham for more information.
65% of Kanawha County and 75% of Putnam County is unreached with the Gospel. The Pioneer Baptist Association is committed to partnering with local churches to plant new churches reach our neighbors. You can assist these church plants by sending teams to support these new works. Contact Danny Cunningham for more information.

Pioneer Baptist Association Mission Scholarship
When someone believes God is leading them to participate in a trip, God is the One who will provide through various means. While the PBA wants to do everything possible to provide financial aid for those who desire to participate in church-sanctioned and associational mission opportunities, it should be understood that scholarships are reserved for those who have a genuine financial need.
The granting of a scholarship should not be assumed during the process. Availability of funds depends on mission funds available at the time of request, as well as other factors, including:
The individual's capacity through income, savings and resources to pay for his or her trip;
The spiritual maturity of the applicant;
The ability of the applicant to provide leadership during the trip or on future mission opportunities; and
The timeliness of the scholarship application (which should be received at least four months prior to international opportunities and two months prior to North America opportunities).
Q: I genuinely don’t have enough money to pay for the mission trip. What should I do?
A: You will need to:
Complete and return a scholarship application form two months prior to the planned mission trip.
Q: What is the largest amount I can expect to receive from a scholarship?
A: The Pioneer Baptist Association Administrative Team has been approved to commit no more than $4,000 annually for mission scholarships. The funding has been divided to include $2,000 for North America opportunities and $2,000 annually for international opportunities. The amount received depends on several factors, including but not limited to: the number of applicants for the year, the total cost of the opportunity, the financial need, and the number of times an applicant has applied for mission scholarship funding.
Q. How often can I apply for financial support?
A: An applicant can apply as many times as they desire, however, if approved, scholarship funds will be provided only once every two years. Should scholarship money be available from the annual $4,000, an applicant may be contacted to see if a financial need still exists prior to the two-year limitation.
Q: When will I know if I will receive a scholarship and how much it will be?
A: The Administrative Team will send you a confirmation of your scholarship approval and amount no less than three months prior to an international opportunity and two months prior to a North America opportunity..
You can complete the attached mission scholarship application and send it to the address provided on the application.
